  • Notes:
  • Frederick James Elliott was a prolific watercolourist who specialised in marine subjects notably seascapes and ships. His official biography notes that he was active in Sydney from the 1890s to the 1920s but this painting of the H.M.A.S Junee, a WWII Bathurst-class Corvette launched in November 1943, indicates that he continued his painting much closer to his death in Paddington (Sydney) in 1949.
  • Condition:
  • Fully restored and housed in the original frame
