  • Churingas were wooden or stone spiritual objects used in men’s secret-sacred rituals by the Aboriginal people of the Central and Western Deserts of Australia. The Churingas of the Arrernte people of the Central Desert were usually inscribed with waves and concentric circles and coloured with red ochre.
