Welcome to Smalls Auctions Sale 151 In this Sale we have on offer some amazing Silver Services. The most impressive suite comprises a Sterling (925) Silver Urn with gilded interior with four matching Silver Goblets in the form of Griffins. It would certainly set off your Christmas Table and impress your family and friends. The Urn itself sits on a presentation stand with an engraved plaque which reads "From Florence Countess Dowager of Kingston to John Garnett Tatlow Esqre on the occasion of his Gold Wedding, in memory of untold kindness received from him, by her and all her family. July 31st, 1901. They certainly did things in style in Edwardian times. The second offering is a four-piece Tea Service from the 'Kashmir Silver Works' stamped PAK 94 Silver and coming in at a weighty 2603gms. Another to pull out of the cupboard for special occasions to impress your guests. Tea tastes so much better when it is poured from a Silver Teapot – trust me. There are also over eighty mixed lots of Jewellery on offer at wholesale prices to help out with your Christmas shopping plus a few ornamental antiques which would also suit as gifts. In the Militaria section we have a number of uniforms and jackets being offered for the first time as well as a reprise of previously offered lots giving you a last chance to secure some of these scarce and rare items. The Sale concludes with over forty lots of Australian Pre-decimal Banknotes including an extremely rare Australian 'Collins - Allen' 'Red Serial' £1 from 1913,. There are less than twenty of this issue that have survived, and this is the highest serial number extant. The note, although only in Fine condition is complete and problem free. Another rarity is the ‘Coombs-Watt’ 10/- Star Replacement Note graded PCGS Gold Shield 62 Uncirculated OPQ. Collectors of Australian Banknotes would be aware that there are very few notes of this era which have not been played with to cosmetically improve their grade and more so the rarities, and a review of our records points to the likelihood that this note is the only true Uncirculated note of this issue. All in all, it is a diverse offering and one we hope will tempt you. Seasons Greetings from the Staff of Smalls Auctions
