Auction 80 Highlights

Welcome to Smalls Auctions Sale number 80.

In this sale we have a good selection of numismatic rarities from across the Globe.

A couple of highlights are the extremely rare Proof Sets from the Scandinavian nations of Iceland and the Faeroe Islands (Denmark) which were once part of the official Melbourne Mint Collection. From the same source is an incredibly rare 1931 10 Dinara from Yugoslavia in NGC PF65, one of only a few in private hands.

Representing Australia is an exceedingly rare 1966 ‘London Die’ 20 Cent in PCGS PR63 Cam. This coin comes with a letter of authenticity from the Royal Australian Mint which concurs that it compares favourably with the coin held in the Mint’s own collection. It is almost certain that this is the only example circulating outside of institutional collections. Similarly, the Jersey 1877 (L) Proof Cupro-Nickel 1/12 Shilling NGC PF64, ex the famous Jerome Remick Collection, is likely the only one known outside the Royal Mint Collection.

These are just a few of the highlights of this important Sale which certainly bears a closer study.
