This month is Smalls Auctions 30th Sale which offers an amazing selection of Australian Pre-decimal coins including nine coins that stand out as the single or equal finest known. There are a further fourteen coins that rank in the top two grades for the dates and denominations including a few that we consider to be better than some of the coins that rank above them.
Also, on offer is a quality selection of Ancient gold coins including six Aurei of the Roman Empire as well as a Pentadrachm of Ptolemy II, an Octodrachm of Ptolemy III, a Sasanian Dinar of Vahran II and a Zeugitania Gold Stater of Carthage.
Collectors of World coins looking for the next big thing would be wise to focus on the Thailand 1876-1900 Gold 1/8 Baht in NGC MS64. This is a high grade for this rarity in a series that has doubled in the past year following the death of their beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
As usual there is a nice selection of jewellery on offer and for the collectors of fine silver there is a matching pair of highly collectable silver Table Spoons by famous woman silversmith 'Hester Bateman' stamped London, 1777.
